Sleep Token spent years operating behind masks, mythology, and a genuinely committed bit about worshipping an entity called Sleep, and then Take Me Back to Eden happened and suddenly everyone had opinions. Even in Arcadia is what comes after that moment.

The UK outfit have never been easy to file, and this record doesn't simplify things. The progressive and alternative metal framework is still there, but the emotional architecture keeps shifting, which is either the point or the problem depending on your patience for a band that treats genre as raw material rather than identity. Vessel's vocal range remains one of the more genuinely arresting things in contemporary heavy music, and the production on this one is built to match. Whether the lore still holds or the hype has run its course, the album exists independently of both conversations.
