Reign In Blood dropped in 1986 and immediately became the album other bands had to reckon with. Produced by Rick Rubin at what felt like an impossible tempo, it opened with Angel of Death and didn't let up once. Hanneman and King's riffs hit like a car crash in slow motion and Lombardo's drumming on tracks like Raining Blood and Postmortem remains some of the most ferocious playing in metal history. This Record Store Day 2023 pressing comes on clear with red splatter vinyl, which is either a coincidence or someone at the pressing plant has a sense of humour. Either way it looks exactly right on a shelf next to your other heavy records.
