Before Andrew Eldritch became a recluse who refused to call his own band goth, there were these sessions, captured for the BBC between 1983 and 1984, when the Sisters were still a live band worth watching and not yet a concept Eldritch was protecting from the world.

This digipak compilation documents the Leeds outfit at their most feral and unpolished, the drum machine locked in, the guitars droning like a motorway at 3am, Eldritch's voice already fully formed and devastating. These recordings sit alongside The Reptile House EP and early First and Last and Always sessions as essential documents of how goth rock actually sounded before it became a costume.
