Oakland has a long history of producing music that sounds like the city is actively trying to eat itself. Shrinkwrap Killers fit right in.

Feed The Clones Pt. 2 lands somewhere between synth-punk and mutant punk in that gloriously damaged zone where cheap electronics meet raw aggression and neither side blinks first. This is the kind of record that owes as much to Devo's anxiety and Suicide's confrontational minimalism as it does to anything with a guitar, but it's meaner and stranger than either reference suggests. The Blood Red and Silver Merge pressing is exactly as chaotic as the music deserves, and the kind of physical object that makes you remember why you still buy vinyl in the first place. Alternative fashion has always had a soundtrack, and this is firmly on the darker, weirder end of it.
