Jack Frost's New Jersey outfit spent the better part of two decades turning out heavy metal that was tighter and more interesting than a lot of the names that got bigger. Years of the Witch is a compilation DVD that does what a good compilation should, it gives you the shape of a band's arc and makes you want to go back and fill in the gaps. For anyone already across the genre or coming from a Savatage, Iced Earth, or Jag Panzer angle, this is a worthwhile addition. For the uninitiated, it's as good an entry point as any into a band that kept the flame burning when a lot of others didn't bother.
