SEPULTURA Roots Back Patch

Roots came out in 1996 and immediately divided people, which is usually a sign that something interesting happened. Sepultura brought in Xavante Indigenous musicians, leaned hard into Brazilian rhythms, and made an album that groove metal kids and experimental metal heads have been arguing about ever since. It also contains "Ratamahatta" and "Attitude", so the argument tends to end there.

Dedicating a back patch specifically to Roots is a choice that communicates something. It's not just flying the Sepultura flag, it's pointing at a specific moment when a heavy band decided to go somewhere uncomfortable and unfamiliar. That kind of specificity is what separates a battle jacket with a story from a jacket with a pile of patches. This one belongs on denim that's already seen some things.
