Dissected & Fermented is Scaphis' second full-length, and it earns both words in that title. This is the kind of methodical, suffocating death metal that sits comfortably alongside the Scandinavian heavyweights without borrowing their aesthetic wholesale. There's something distinctly unhinged about the way this record moves, surgical in places and completely feral in others. The digipak format does it justice, proper physical media for a band that deserves a spot in your collection rather than a playlist algorithm.
