SST Records had no business releasing something this slow and heavy and they did it anyway, which is exactly why it matters. Dave Chandler's guitar tone on this record is a controlled disaster, Scott Reagers sounds like a man genuinely haunted, and the whole thing moves like a funeral procession that might turn violent. This is foundational dark aesthetic vinyl for anyone serious about where the heavy underground actually came from.
