Before Scott Ian was the guy from Anthrax doing cameos in documentaries, he and a few friends made Speak English or Die in 1985 as a joke that got way out of hand. Stormtroopers of Death basically invented crossover thrash on a long weekend.

S.O.D. sit in a weird and important place in metal history, too heavy for the punk kids, too chaotic for the thrash purists, and absolutely beloved by both.
