Greek black metal doesn't get the international credit it deserves, and Rotting Christ have spent thirty-plus years not caring about that in the most productive way possible. They just kept making records, each one denser and more atmospheric than the last.

Rotting Christ sit in a particular corner of the dark aesthetic where black metal bleeds into gothic and industrial textures, somewhere between Thy Mighty Contract's raw aggression and the cinematic weight of Theogonia. The name alone has been causing parental concern since 1987, which at this point is basically a legacy achievement. A beanie feels like exactly the right merch format for a band whose music sounds like a cold front rolling in off the Aegean.
