David Reece is one of those voices that other singers have strong opinions about. He fronted Accept on Eat the Heat, a record the internet still argues over, built Bangalore Choir into a cult favourite, and spent years moving between projects with the kind of restless credibility that only accumulates through actually doing the work.

Cacophony of Souls is his 2020 solo statement, and it sounds like someone with nothing left to prove and everything to say. Hard rock that earns its drama, where the vocal performance is the point rather than a garnish over backing tracks. His Sainted Sinners work runs parallel if you want a thread to follow through his recent output, but this record stands entirely on its own terms.
