RADIOHEAD: Ok Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017 CD
There are albums, and then there are albums that made people feel like they were being watched by the infrastructure. OK Computer was the second kind, and it came out in 1997 before most of what it was describing had actually happened yet.
OKNOTOK is the 20th anniversary edition, and it earns its existence. Beyond the remaster, it includes three B-sides that deserve the spotlight: I Promise, Man of War, and Lift, tracks that spent two decades as bootleg mythology before finally getting a proper release. If you've only ever streamed OK Computer, hearing Paranoid Android and Exit Music in a format with actual dynamic range is a different experience. This is alt rock and art rock at the point where they stopped being useful categories, just Thom Yorke and the band building something that still sounds like it's from slightly ahead of wherever we are.
CD DigiPak format, UK origin. Includes three previously unreleased tracks. 2017 release.
