Pinhead Gunpowder formed in the early 90s as a no-pressure outlet away from Green Day's growing machinery, and everything about them reflects that, loose, fast, melodic punk with a DIY ethic and zero interest in crossover success. Shoot the Moon, originally released as an EP in 1999, is peak Pinhead, short bursts of pop-punk with more bark and less polish than anything on Reprise Records at the time. If you came to Green Day through Dookie and then went digging backwards through Lookout! Records, this was the rabbit hole. Colour vinyl, because grey is for days when you are not excited about punk records, and you should always be excited about punk records.
