Phil Anselmo doesn't do things by half. The man fronted Pantera through their imperial phase, survived the chaos that followed, and came out the other side with a solo project that sounds like sludge, groove metal, and genuine unhinged energy colliding at volume. This 10" EP was recorded for the Scion AV Housecore Horror Film Festival in 2013, which was Anselmo's own festival, because of course he started a horror film festival.

The Illegals are a proper band, not a vanity project. The material here is heavier, weirder, and more uncompromising than anything designed to chase mainstream metal radio. If you're familiar with the Housecore label's general philosophy, being loud, confrontational, and completely indifferent to polish, this fits right in. A vinyl collector's piece for anyone serious about the alternative and metal underground.
