Byron Bay's finest export since the 80s beach culture they helped bury went and made a stadium metal record, and somehow it worked. Darker Still landed in 2022 as the album where Parkway Drive fully committed to the cinematic heavy, all orchestral swell and crushing breakdowns, Winston McCall's voice sitting somewhere between anthem and eulogy.

This is the record that divided forums and filled arenas simultaneously, which is usually a sign you're doing something right. Think Reverence but angrier at its own scale. The production is enormous, the hooks are undeniable, and if you've ever watched the Viva the Underdogs documentary and felt something, this is the natural continuation of that thread. Australian metalcore that's outgrown the genre label while still punching through walls.
