PANZER Send Them All To Hell (2014) CD
Germany has a particular relationship with heavy metal, partly guilt, partly excellence. When a band calls itself Panzer, sounds like Accept's meaner younger sibling, and titles an album Send Them All to Hell, they are not interested in subtlety and that is entirely the correct call.
Formed by former members of Accept and Sodom, Panzer arrived in 2014 with the kind of album that makes you want to drive too fast on a highway that doesn't exist anymore. Stefan Kaufmann's production is massive without being sterile, and the riffs hit like Teutonic heavy metal is contractually obligated to. This is the stuff that built the genre's backbone, mid-paced, anthemic, completely unashamed of loving what it loves. If you still have opinions about the Udo-era Accept catalogue, this belongs next to it.
