Melbourne has always punched above its weight in the heavy music underground, and Order of Chaos were proof. Deadweight Undertow landed in 2014 as one of the more serious Australian metalcore records of its era, pulling hard toward melodic death metal and not apologising for it.

These were not breakdowns-for-the-sake-of-it merchants. Order of Chaos had a genuine grip on European melodeath, the kind that makes you think Gothenburg rather than Gold Coast, and the songwriting on this record reflects that. Dark, driving, and technically confident without disappearing up its own fretboard.
