Lithuania has never been a footnote in black metal, and Obtest are proof of that.

Active since the early 90s, Obtest helped lay the groundwork for Baltic pagan black metal before it had a genre tag, weaving Lithuanian mythology and folk tradition into raw, cold-blooded metal that felt genuinely rooted in something. Tukstantmetis, their 2009 record, is where the sound opened up into something heavier and more epic, pagan metal in the truest sense, not the radio-friendly kind. This patch is for the diggers, the people who have scrolled past the obvious Scandinavian names and found their way to the edges of the map where the underground stays underground.
