Nunslaughter have spent decades being one of America's most relentlessly ugly death metal exports, and The Supreme Beast is a tight two-hander that earns its cult status. Side A opens with the title track, a grinding, mid-paced bulldozer of a thing at just over three and a half minutes, followed by Phantom clocking in at a blunt, no-fat ninety-five seconds. Originally released in 2004 and repressed in 2016, this is the kind of seven-inch that lives in a milk crate next to your turntable and gets pulled out when you need to remind guests what real death metal sounds like.
