Where The Fragile sprawled, this one hit. 'All the Love in the World', 'Every Day is Exactly the Same', 'Only', the singles were immediate but the album rewarded patience too. Produced with Dave Grohl on drums for several tracks, it sits at this interesting junction between industrial rock's machine-driven aggression and something that actually breathes. For a generation of alternative kids who came up on the Fragile waiting rooms, this felt like a return to form. For the metal and grunge crossover crowd, it was the entry point. Either way, it holds up on wax.
