Through Wilderness is the kind of death metal record that sounds genuinely old but not like it's trying to. There's no retro cosplay here, just the real thing, filthy and slow-burning, with enough doom-death rot in the bones to keep it from ever sounding comfortable. The band features members with roots in Acephalix and Vastum, which tells you exactly where the compass is pointed. Ugly in the best possible way. This is the brown with black splatter pressing, because of course it is.
