Moonrunner Black Sabbath Necklace P420

Black Sabbath didn't invent heavy metal so you could wear a plain chain. The band that started it all in a Birmingham rehearsal room in 1968 has had better official merchandise than almost any act in rock history, and this Alchemy England piece from 2005 is a reminder of why the archives matter.

The Moonrunner pendant depicts the Diabolis' messenger mid-flight, which is exactly the kind of imagery Ozzy, Iommi, Butler and Ward were conjuring on records like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Heaven and Hell. Alchemy England have been making officially licensed metal and gothic jewellery long enough to know how to do a Sabbath piece properly, and this one is cast in English pewter with enamel detailing. Pulling it out of their archive means the design predates the reunion cycles and the nostalgia economy. It's just a good piece from when the band was still considered dangerous in some quarters.
