When ex-Spellbound members went looking for a new vehicle, they didn't dial it back. Mission In Black landed with a thrash record that sounds exactly like the title promises, anthemic and confrontational, anchored by vocals that cut through the mix like a blade through a snare drum.

Three quarters of the Spellbound lineup plus a member of Mystic Prophecy, combined with a front-of-house vocal performance that gives the whole thing an edge a lot of German thrash acts sand down in the studio. Anthems Of A Dying Breed is the kind of record that reminds you why the genre had teeth in the first place. Heavy metal with actual intent behind it.
