MINISTRY Rio Grande Dub Ya CD (2007)

Al Jourgensen spent most of the Bush years absolutely furious, and it produced some of the most viscerally satisfying industrial metal of the 2000s. Rio Grande Blood came out in 2006 as a full-throttle indictment of the Iraq War and the administration that launched it, and Rio Grande Dub Ya is the 2007 companion piece, a remix and rework of that material that leans harder into the electronic and dub-industrial textures Ministry had been weaponising since Psalm 69.

If you've followed Ministry from the cold synth-pop of With Sympathy through to the grinding noise-metal of Filth Pig and beyond, this sits in that specific late-era pocket where the politics got louder and the production got uglier in the best possible way. Industrial metal as agitprop. It holds up in a way that feels uncomfortable.
