Midnight is Athenar, a one-man black metal and speed metal operation out of Cleveland that treats Motörhead, Venom and early black metal less like influences and more like a personal religion. Satanic Royalty is the debut full-length, released in 2011 on Hells Headbangers, and it hit the underground like a fist through a rehearsal room wall. Raw, fast, filthy, completely committed. The blue vinyl pressing is the kind of thing that ends up in collections next to Venom picture discs and first press Discharge records, which tells you everything about the crowd this one runs with.
