METALLICA Tangled Web Patch

Load and Reload cop a lot of grief, but the visual era that came with them, the Anton Corbijn photography, the spider web motifs, the band leaning into something darker and more textured, produced some genuinely sinister imagery that still holds up.

The Tangled Web design belongs to that mid-to-late 90s Metallica moment when the band was fracturing and fascinating in equal measure, and the gothic undertones were stronger than people gave credit for at the time. On a jacket already carrying Slayer and Crowbar patches, this sits with authority. Woven patches have a weight and detail that printed ones never quite nail, and the English manufacture shows in the finish.
