MEGADETH - The Threat is Real VINYL EP

Before Dystopia dropped and reminded everyone that Megadeth still had teeth, this was the warning shot. Released in 2015, The Threat Is Real EP arrived with Kiko Loureiro barely warm in the guitar seat and Dave Mustaine sounding like he had something to prove again, which, knowing Dave, he always does.

Two tracks: the title cut, a groove-heavy mid-tempo snarl that landed on the Dystopia album the following year, and Foreign Policy on the B-side, a track that didn't make the album cut and gives this 7-inch its reason to exist beyond completionism. For the Megadeth collector, that B-side alone justifies shelf space. For the newcomer who just got into thrash metal through a YouTube rabbit hole at 2am, it's as good a place as any to fall in.
