Wrest has always operated on a different plane. The solo project from Leviathan's mastermind, Lurker of Chalice existed briefly in the early 2000s and produced one of the most singular records in American black metal, then went largely silent for two decades. Tellurian Slaked Furnace collects what came next, and it sounds like transmissions from somewhere you can't locate on a map.

This is ambient black metal at its most interior, all corroded atmosphere and subterranean drift. Where Leviathan weaponises chaos, Lurker of Chalice folds inward, slow and suffocating in the best possible way. If you've spent any time with Wormlust, Chaos Moon, or the more dissociative end of the dark aesthetic underground, this belongs in your collection. The fact that it's taken this long to resurface on wax only adds to the mythology.
