Liv Kristine spent the early 2000s as the voice of Leave's Eyes and Theatre of Tragedy, two cornerstones of Gothic metal's most theatrical era. Then she went pop, and people had feelings about it. Skintight is the 2010 solo album where she leaned into that fully, landing somewhere between Scandinavian synth-pop and the kind of dark, polished rock that soundtracked late-night European TV.

It's not metal, and it was never pretending to be. What it is, is a well-constructed pop record from a vocalist with genuine range and a back catalogue that earns her some goodwill.
