Released in 2003, Meteora was Linkin Park at peak velocity, tighter and darker than Hybrid Theory, with Chester Bennington sounding like he was pulling the songs out of somewhere real. Numb, Breaking the Habit, Faint, From the Inside, it was a record that hit suburban bedrooms like a freight train and introduced a generation to the idea that rap rock and alternative metal could carry genuine emotional weight. The nu-metal discourse has softened considerably since then, partly because time is a great equaliser and partly because the songs genuinely hold up. This 2023 reissue brings it back on vinyl for the people who were twelve in 2003 and now have a turntable and opinions about pressing quality.
