LACUNA COIL Karmacode Wall Flag

Milan, 2006. Lacuna Coil were already doing the gothic metal thing better than most, and Karmacode was the record that proved they could do it bigger without losing the darkness that made them matter. Cristina Scabbia's voice against Andrea Ferro's, all that dense industrial edge, the Souxsie-meeting-Sabbath atmosphere that nobody else was quite pulling off at the time.

The Karmacode era was peak dual-vocal gothic metal, the kind that gets referenced whenever someone argues that the genre had real teeth. This licensed textile flag is the kind of thing that belongs in a room with band posters floor to ceiling, a record player in the corner, and opinions about symphonic metal that could clear a room. Not for the beige wall crowd.
