L7 - The Best of the Slash Years VINYL

There's a version of the early nineties that gets told without L7, and it's a worse story, full of omissions and erasures that conveniently forget who was actually in the room when grunge and punk collided hardest.

L7 were the real thing, four women from LA who played heavier than most of their male contemporaries and cared less about what that meant for their career. Their run on Slash Records gave us Smell the Magic and Bricks Are Heavy, the latter of which contains Pretend We're Dead and Shitlist, two songs that were everywhere in 1992 and still land exactly as hard today. This best-of pulls the essential cuts from that era and puts them on vinyl, which is the correct format for music that was always meant to rattle windows. If your collection runs through riot grrrl, alternative, early nineties underground, and you somehow don't have this covered, now's the time.
