Before riot grrrl had a name, L7 were already too loud, too mean, and too good to be contained. The Los Angeles quartet spent the early nineties dragging grunge and punk into a blender, cranking it to eleven, and handing the results to anyone brave enough to keep up. This is them live, which means rawer, louder, and considerably more dangerous than the studio cuts.

Live at the Wireless captures L7 the way they were always meant to be heard, on a stage, with an audience who knew exactly what they were getting into. Donita Sparks, Suzi Gardner, Jennifer Finch, Dee Plakas, the full lineup at full tilt. This is the band that played Lollapalooza, signed to Sub Pop, and made Pretend We're Dead one of the defining alt-rock moments of 1992. The Wireless recording has that beautiful live-board quality, where you can feel the room and the noise in equal measure.
