KREATOR: Violent Revolution CD

2001 was a good year to be reminded that thrash metal never actually went anywhere. Kreator came back swinging with Violent Revolution and made a lot of bands look like they'd spent the 90s asleep.

After a mid-90s detour into industrial and gothic territory that divided the faithful, Mille Petrozza and the Essen crew stripped it back and went full aggression. Violent Revolution is the album that re-established Kreator as one of the Teutonic Big Three and proved the German thrash tradition hadn't lost its teeth. It's political, it's fast, it's pissed off in a way that felt genuinely urgent at the time and somehow still does. If you're building a serious punk or metal collection and this isn't in it, fix that.
