KORN: Life Is Peachy Vinyl LP (180g)

If Korn's debut was the sound of something being unearthed, Life Is Peachy is what happened when they decided not to bury it back. Recorded in roughly three weeks with Ross Robinson and released in 1996, it is meaner, stranger, and more claustrophobic than anything else in the nu metal canon.

The Bakersfield quintet leaned harder into Jonathan Davis's fractured stream-of-consciousness and the band's locked-in low-tuned groove, with results that still sound genuinely unsettling. A.D.I.D.A.S., Twist, and the absolutely deranged Wicked have not aged into comfortable nostalgia, which is exactly the point. This is the album for people who found the debut too polished, pressed here on 180g vinyl because music this heavy deserves weight you can actually feel in your hands. Essential dark aesthetic listening.
