KISS - Dynasty VINYL
Say what you want about the disco panic of 1979, KISS releasing "I Was Made for Lovin' You" and watching the purists lose their minds remains one of rock history's great spectator sports. Dynasty is the album where the makeup-wearing shock rock kings from New York decided the dancefloor was worth raiding, and somehow it worked.
Context matters here. By '79 KISS were one of the biggest bands on the planet, moving from the raw grunt of their early work into something glossier, stranger, and more commercially ruthless. The album has its hard rock credentials intact, "Sure Know Something" and "X-Ray Eyes" holding down the alternative end, but it's the Casablanca Records era at full commercial tilt. A genuine document of a band at the peak of their cultural reach before the wheels wobbled. The 40th anniversary pressing does it justice.
40th Anniversary translucent green vinyl. Standard LP format, 12-inch.
