Until We Are Outnumbered dropped in 2010 and landed hard, a full-throttle modern thrash record with enough aggression to keep the traditionalists happy and enough production muscle to pull in the metalcore crowd crossing back over. The Kandidate had a knack for riffs that felt urgent rather than nostalgic, which put them a cut above the wave of retro-thrash acts that were more costume than conviction. This is the kind of record that sounds best loud, preferably in a car going too fast or a room with bad acoustics.
