Interrupted Byz Earrings

Chainmaille has been making people look intimidating for about a thousand years. The craft never really went away, it just migrated from armouries into the hands of people who make jewellery in swamps.

The Interrupted Byz Earrings are handwoven by Swamp Witch, an Australian maker whose work sits right at the intersection of dark aesthetic jewellery and serious chainmaille technique. The Byzantine weave is one of the more complex patterns in the form, all interlocking links and satisfying structural weight, and the spike drops underneath give it that industrial gothic edge that pairs as well with a black metal shirt as it does with anything you'd wear to a gallery opening. Australian handmade, which means no two pairs are going to come out of a factory looking identical.
