There is no band in black metal that looks quite as cold as Immortal. The Norwegians have been performing elaborate frost-ritual photoshoots in the mountains of Blashyrkh since 1990, and somehow it never gets old.

Damned in Black, released in 2000, is one of their tightest records, a relentless, riff-driven slab of black metal that leaned harder into the thrash and death metal influences without losing any of the frozen grimness that made them icons. Abbath in full corpse paint, the blizzard guitar tone, the unapologetic theatrics, it is pure dark aesthetic gold and this patch represents that era perfectly. Goes on the battle jacket, full stop. If you've got an Emperor patch, this lives next to it.
