Washington D.C.'s Ilsa play doom metal dragged through sludge and crust, ugly and deliberate in the best possible way. Tutti Il Colori Del Buio is their debut full-length and it hits like a slow cave-in, Christa Bhatt's vocals cutting through dense, suffocating riffs that owe as much to Eyehategod as they do to old-school doom. For a debut record this is remarkably fully formed, the kind of thing that gets quietly passed around among people with very specific and very correct taste in heavy music.
