HOME FRONT: Think Of The Lie MLP

Edmonton, Alberta is not a city that gets name-dropped in post-punk mythology very often. Home Front are doing something about that. Think of the Lie is a jittery, cold-blooded slab of synth-punk and new wave anxiety that sounds like it was recorded under fluorescent lights at 2am in a city where winter lasts half the year and trust is in short supply.

Home Front sit comfortably in the lineage of bands who understood that the most unsettling punk music doesn't always need to be the loudest. There's a paranoid, mechanical tension running through this MLP that owes as much to early industrial and the darker end of new wave as it does to hardcore. Think the post-punk underground of the early 80s filtered through something colder and more contemporary, with lyrics that don't give you an easy out. If you've been sleeping on the Canadian alternative scene, this is a good place to wake up.
