Australian blues-rock has always had a mean streak, and HER lean into it harder than most.

Before Our Time arrived in 2022 and did what good Australian rock records do: ignored what was happening overseas and got on with the business of being raw, direct, and a little dangerous. HER pull from the same muddy well as the Screaming Jets and Karly Jewell, but there's something murkier underneath, a blues backbone that keeps the whole thing from going too clean. This is the kind of record that sounds better loud, in a car, on a road that doesn't have a destination yet. The Australian underground has always made space for this kind of music, and Before Our Time earns its place in that tradition without asking permission.
