Live On 3 Continents captures the German veterans doing what they do better than almost anyone: turning festival stages into full theatrical events where the tempos are relentless, the twin guitar harmonies are immaculate, and Andi Deris is doing things vocally that have no business coming from a human being. Helloween invented a significant chunk of the power and speed metal playbook, and the bands who studied that playbook, from Blind Guardian to Hammerfall to Stratovarius, are essentially playing footnotes to this band's main text. Shot across multiple continents, this DVD captures the scale they operate at live, which is considerable. Essential viewing for anyone serious about the genre.
