Headhunter have been operating in that tradition since the late eighties, and Parasite of Society (2008) is them at their tightest. This is power-thrash with a grudge, the kind of record that sits comfortably next to your Destruction and Sodom records without trying to reinvent anything. It doesn't need to. The riffs are locked in, the production is thick, and Cédric Dupont's vocals carry that same controlled fury the German metal scene does better than almost anyone. Sometimes a band just knows exactly what it is and executes.
