Trevor William Church's Haunt are one of the more committed acts in the current traditional heavy metal revival, sitting comfortably alongside Idle Hands and Helvetets Port in a scene that treats melody and twin guitar leads as sacred things. Dreamers leans into the airiness that separates them from the doom-adjacent end of the metal world, this is bright, hook-driven heavy metal with a slight melancholy underneath the shine. Not a departure, an arrival. If you have been sleeping on Haunt, this is the cassette that fixes that.
