There are maybe ten album covers in rock history that function as pure cultural shorthand. The Robert Williams painting on Appetite for Destruction is one of them, and it got the album banned from most major US retailers before the record had even finished its run to thirty million copies sold.

This patch puts that image exactly where it belongs, which is somewhere on a jacket that's already working hard. The Appetite era was GNR at their most feral, before the top hats became a bit much, before the revolving lineup, before the decades of will-they-won't-they reunion speculation. Just five people in Los Angeles making the loudest, most chaotic hard rock record they could.
