Before the world knew Green Day as arena-filling punk royalty, there was Kerplunk, recorded for a few hundred dollars and released on Lookout! Records in 1991 to a Bay Area scene that was already losing its mind for it. It's the record that sits just before the mainstream caught on, which is exactly why it still hits different.
