GOBLIN Wampyr Soundtrack RSD Vinyl LP

Dario Argento got his hands on George Romero's Martin and came back with something else entirely. Wampyr is the Italian re-edit, reshaped by Argento, rescored by Goblin, and quietly one of the more fascinating footnotes in Italian horror history.

Goblin were at the peak of their powers in the late seventies, bouncing between Argento's sets and their own prog-horror experiments, and this score carries all of that controlled menace. Less bombastic than Suspiria, more unsettled, like something circling rather than striking. If you've spent time with their Profondo Rosso or Zombi work you'll know exactly what register this sits in. Essential dark aesthetic listening, the kind of record that makes a midnight room feel genuinely different.
