GEHENNA WW CD (2005)

Norway in the early 2000s wasn't done yet. Gehenna had already spent a decade shapeshifting through the black metal underground, and WW landed in 2005 like a fist through drywall, tighter and more death-inflected than anything they'd put out before. Less atmosphere, more aggression, and all the better for it.

If you came up on the second wave and thought Gehenna was just another Mayhem adjacent act, WW is the correction. The production has teeth, the riffs have purpose, and the whole thing sits in that uncomfortable space between black and death metal where the really interesting stuff happens. It's the kind of record that rewards actually listening to it rather than just wearing the patch.
