FURZE UTD CD Split Album Digipak (2007)

Furze has always operated on a different frequency to the rest of the Norwegian underground, and UTD is the document of a band that simply doesn't care what you think black metal is supposed to sound like. Wveikiadt is one of those artists who exists in his own ecosystem, and this split full length from 2007 is a proper artifact from that world.

The experimental and doom elements here aren't window dressing, they're load-bearing walls. This is the kind of release that sits in the collection of someone who owns every Darkthrone record but also has strong opinions about Aura Noir's production choices. The digipak format makes it a legitimately nice physical object, which matters when the music is this weird. Norwegian black metal that splinters into something stranger the longer you sit with it.
